Privacy & Personalization
TamilTick keeps a small, anonymous record of what you open on this site so your watchlist can show it back to you. Here is exactly what that means, and how to switch it off.
What we store
- A random anonymous id in a cookie (
tt_uid), not your name or email. - Which leaders, parties, topics and stories you open, save, or follow a link from.
- A coarse country code, and whether you are on a phone or a computer.
What we never store
- Analytics contains no name, email or phone. Accounts and email subscriptions use separate consent.
- No raw IP address. Visits are counted with a salted hash that changes every day.
- We do not follow you across other websites, and we never buy data about you.
How your watchlist works
Your watchlist shows the pages you opened recently and anything you saved, most recent first. It is built only from your own activity on this site.
Services we use
- Pages load their Tamil typeface from Google Fonts.
- Google Analytics measures aggregate traffic (page views, countries, devices).
Both are Google services and receive the standard request your browser sends.
Your controls
Use these at any time. They take effect immediately.
Clear deletes every event and saved item tied to your anonymous id and resets the cookie. Turning personalization off stops all new recording until you turn it back on.
Email digest signup
Only if you separately consent, we store your email, consent version, request time and confirmation time. Resend delivers the confirmation email. The database holds token hashes; email addresses and tokens are excluded from analytics. Confirmation expires in 24 hours. Expired pending records are removed after seven days on the next signup request. Unsubscribing removes the subscription and email from our subscription list.
